2024: The Year of the Reward

As part of my end of the year routine, I take time to seek the Lord about the upcoming calendar year. As I sought the Lord concerning 2024, He showed me that it is going to be an eventful year. 2024 will be filled with losses, shocks, disappointments and griefs like other years, however I strongly believe that we as the people of God who walk according to His Word will live to see great joys and victories this year. Here are some things you can expect concerning this upcoming calendar year:

1. 2024 is a year of the reward (Hebrews 11:6). God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This year, God is set to reward His children who have diligently sought after His will and way and have obeyed His voice in the wilderness and hard things. When God says he will reward those who diligently seeks Him, He is promising to pay to those who seek Him their wages or to recompense them for what was lost. For those who have spent years seeking God for guidance, clarity, provision and breakthrough, this year you will see the reward of God locate you!

2. 2024 is a year that requires a renewal of the fear of the Lord in our lives (Proverbs 9:10). In order for us as believers to navigate the days that are here and coming, we need to be found living lives that reverence our Father. No longer can we lead lives that don't reverence God in how we think, speak, act and yes, manage our finances. No longer can we rely on our own understanding; we instead need to rely on God and His wisdom to navigate these times and it's only in the fear of the Lord that we will find this wisdom that we need.

3. 2024 is a year of judgment (Daniel 5:27). God has seen the hidden things going on in our government, school systems, churches and all the other sectors of our society and He will bring them to light. This year He is set to weigh and judge those who have sowed seeds of wickedness and unrighteousness and they shall reap what they've sown. This also means that those who have sown seeds of righteousness and obedience will reap their harvest as well (Galatians 6:7-9). God will not be mocked--whatever seeds have been sown, will be reaped!

1. 2024 is a year to be found hidden in God (Psalm 91). As the times are becoming increasingly wicked, we will only continue to see calamities, wars, rumors of wars and hardships arise (Matthew 24). Jesus explained that these events would be the signs of the beginning of the end times and this is the time we are living in. However, when people are hidden in God like the Israelites were when the spirit of death passed (Exodus 12:33) destruction that comes won't be able to find us. This year, there will be different storms of destruction that hit the world, but the promises of God to His children amidst the storms that come are that (1) those who dwell in His secret place and those who set their love upon Him will be covered from the pestilence and storm that comes (Psalm 91:1, 14-16) and (2) we have no reason to fear because He has given us peace and has overcome the world (John 16:33).

This word has many implications on us as believers and how we should lead our lives moving forward. As a way of supporting you in aligning with the cadence and direction of God's Spirit this year, I will be hosting bi-weekly BAQAS (seek) prayer meetings all year. Our first BAQAS prayer meeting of 2024 is tomorrow, January 2, 2024 at 6:30pm--join me for a time to express gratitude and diligently seek the wisdom, will and heart of the Father together.
